Country Thunder Alberta is the ultimate country music celebration, bringing together the best in country music across three electrifying days under the wide Alberta sky. Set against the stunning backdrop of Fort Calgary and The Confluence Historic Site and Parkland, this iconic festival transforms the heart of Calgary into a gathering place for country music lovers from across Canada and beyond. Whether you're grabbing a 3-day pass or choosing your favourite night, the experience is nothing short of unforgettable.
The 2026 festival kicks off on Friday, June 26 with a sizzling performance by The Red Clay Strays, whose soulful, blues-infused country sound is set to ignite the crowd from the very first note. Saturday and Sunday continue the momentum with a powerhouse lineup that keeps the energy soaring from afternoon into the late evening. Later in the summer, the festival returns for another run beginning August 21, giving fans even more chances to experience the magic. Each day brings a unique atmosphere — from the buzzing anticipation of opening night to the euphoric crescendo of closing day.
Beyond the music, Country Thunder Alberta is a full sensory experience featuring great food, cold drinks, dancing, and the warm camaraderie of fellow country fans. The festival grounds along the Bow River offer a breathtaking natural setting that makes every moment feel larger than life. This is more than a concert — it's a celebration of culture, community, and the spirit of country music at its finest.
